On October 7, 2023, the Students for Justice in Palestine at Cal State University, Fullerton issued the following statement:

Statement from SJP to our campus community: We urge you all to stay educated as events in Palestine unfold. Resistance against occupation is imperative to preserving our human rights. Repost, view our stories for updates, and be sure to stay informed. From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free 🇵🇸

Resistance is justified when the people are occupied.

Statement from SJP at CSUF

SJP at CSUF writes to our campus community as Palestinians continue to resist occupation.

For 75 years, Palestinians have experienced consistent dispossession of their homes, bombings of their lands, brutality from military forces and settlers, expulsion, discrimination, and more.
What continues to occur in Palestine is not a "conflict" but rather an occupation, ethnic cleansing enforced by an apartheid state and assisted by world powers.
As our people in Palestine bravely fight for their rights to exist on their land, our own government in the United States has just provided $8 billion to aid Israel in continuing its settler colonial agenda. Not including the $3.8 billion of aid provided to Israel annually.
W once again urge you all to truly understand the Palestinian perspective and learn that our people face a harsh reality that has been affecting them since 198.
As students living in the United States, it is our duty to take a stand against occupation, ethnic cleansing, apartheid, and discrimination on all accounts.
Your tax dollars are directly funding human rights violations.
Speak out against apartheid.
Support resistance against occupation.

Excerpts from a report published by Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (updated on May 26, 2024):

On Saturday, 7 October 2023, the religious holiday of Simhat Torah, in an act of war, approximately two thousand Hamas terrorists from the Gaza Strip broke through the border fence and infiltrated Israel by land, sea and air at several locations and advanced towards Israeli communities and population centers. This was carried out in conjunction with indiscriminate rocket fire targeting towns and cities in the south, the center of the country, and Jerusalem with the intent of maximizing harm to civilians.
The terrorists penetrated several southern settlements and began a murderous killing spree, massacring individuals and entire families in their homes, in the streets and at a music that was being held in the area. The terrorists rampaged throughout the region for many hours, during which time they committed atrocities on a scale that have not been seen since the events of the ISIS massacre in Sinjar in 2014.
The evidence found on the ground, the documentation caught on camera by the terrorists themselves and by security cameras, survivors and other sources, as well as survivors’ testimonies, document a horrendous story of attackers devoid of any shred of humanity. Families were slaughtered in their beds, women were viciously raped, and innocent civilians were maimed, killed and in some instances beheaded. In addition, civilians were burnt alive, babies were butchered, and hundreds of men and women were viciously gunned down while simply dancing at a music festival. Upon their return to the Gaza Strip, the terrorists abducted everyone they happened upon - with an emphasis on families, women and children.
Over two hundred Israeli citizens were abducted and many are still being held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip, including small children, women and the elderly. Many of the abductees were injured by Hamas terrorists, many of them need medical treatment and medication, and the condition of many of the abductees is unknown.
